Much Progress

I'm posting 2 days worth of photos today - the microwave was installed; builtins around the fireplace are in; the bar is almost in; downstairs vanity is in; and lots of trim.  The copper sink is supposed to arrive soon - they're hoping to install that on Monday.  The rest of the bar and coffered ceiling over the bar should be in soon, too.  Another exciting piece of news is that we are on schedule to close on Friday, August 26 - only 7 weeks away.

Oh, and there's photos of the yard where the septic system is.  With no further ado...

This last photo is of the reclaimed barn beam we will be using for the great room fireplace mantle.  We were looking for something rustic, and our mason suggested this beam.  It's from a barn in Heyworth.

Kitchen Island and Lockers

The geothermal system was working again today - it was a cool 71 degrees when we got to the house tonight.  What a relief!

The kitchen island and lockers (in the laundry room) were installed today.  Still have a lot more to go and only a little over 7 weeks to do it.

We have kitchen cabinets!

Last week, some of the custom cabinetry had been done, including the window seat and framing of the bookcases in the study:

Can't wait to see the island, bar, and other builtins!  Hoping that will take place tomorrow.

Front door!

Lots of activity today.  All the interior doors were inside waiting to get installed.  The kitchen cabinets are in the garage still their boxes.  Tomorrow will be a big day.  Today, though, was a day we've been waiting for - the front door was installed.

Tile, Hardwood, Engineered Wood, and Septic

I had my camera with us today when we went to see the house.  My oh my.  There's a big mess in the back yard from the septic system going in.

My computer has been on life support the past week, so I've been unable to post pictures.  Steve pulled it back from the brink this morning.

In the past week, they've primed the walls, worked on the deck flooring, finished siding, installed septic, put in one of the garage doors, and completed most of the masonry for the fireplaces.  This week, flooring goes in and then kitchen cabinets - and hopefully the weather will cooperate for them to put the masonry on the front of the house.
